The short version
If you do nothing, this site collects nothing. No cookies are set, no analytics run, and no third-party script loads until you actively agree.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics records which pages you view and roughly where in the world you are, so we can see which articles are worth writing more of. It is never used to identify you personally, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
There is no account to create, no newsletter, no contact form and no payment on this site, so there is nothing for you to hand over even if you wanted to.
Who is responsible for your data
This website is operated by Shterling Digital Consulting LTD, of HaManof 2, Rehovot, Israel. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, and you can reach us at contact@shterlingdigital.com.
If you have a question about this policy or want to exercise any of the rights below, use the contact address above. We aim to respond within one month, which is the statutory deadline.
What we collect, and only when
That is the complete list. We do not operate a contact form, mailing list, user account, comment section, advertising pixel or profiling tool.
- Google Analytics 4 — ONLY after you press "Accept". Records pages viewed, time on page, how you arrived (search, link or direct), approximate location derived from your IP, device and browser type, and clicks that leave this site for an operator. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. Cookies: _ga and _ga_G-VRGZNYRM35.
- Your cookie choice — stored in your browser as cc.consent and cc.notice-seen so we can honour a refusal and stop asking. This never leaves your device, is not sent to us, and contains no identifier of any kind.
- Server logs — our hosting provider records standard web-server entries (IP address, time, page requested, browser string) as part of running and securing the server. We do not use these for analytics or marketing.
Why we are allowed to process it
- Analytics — your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of applicable privacy law. You give it by pressing Accept, and you can withdraw it at any time on our cookie policy page, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing stops further collection immediately.
- Server logs — our legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) of applicable privacy law: keeping the site running and protecting it from abuse. You can object to this, and we will consider any objection on its merits.
Who else sees it
Google, as our analytics provider, and only if you have accepted analytics. Google processes this data on our behalf and also for its own stated purposes; its handling is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Our hosting provider, which holds the server logs described above.
That is all. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with the casino operators listed on this site. When you follow a link to an operator, we pass no personal data about you — the operator only sees that the visit came from this website.
Where your data goes
This site currently runs no analytics at all. No measurement tag is loaded, no analytics cookie is set, and nothing about your visit is sent to a third-party analytics provider. If that changes, this page and the cookie policy will be updated in the same release as the change itself, and the consent notice will ask before anything is set.
Our web host stores standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as part of running the site. The publisher named above is established outside Canada, so operating this site necessarily involves your information being handled outside Canada.
If you would rather no data left the UK, decline analytics. Everything on this site works identically either way.
How long it is kept
- Google Analytics event data — 2 months, after which Google deletes it automatically.
- Google Analytics user-level data — 14 months. GA4 keeps this on a separate setting from event data, and it is currently the longer of the two. Aggregate reports built from either remain after the underlying data is deleted.
- The _ga cookies — up to 2 years from your last visit, unless you clear them sooner in your browser.
- Your cookie choice — until you clear your browser storage, or until we add a new tracking vendor, at which point the old choice expires and you are asked again.
- Server logs — for the period our hosting provider retains them as part of normal operations.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw any consent you have given. Residents of Quebec have further rights under that province's own privacy law. Exercising any of these is free, and we will not treat you differently for it.
In practice, the fastest route for analytics data is to withdraw consent on the cookie policy page and clear your cookies — that ends the collection and removes the identifier that links previous visits together.
Complaining
If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain directly to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, and residents of Quebec may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. You do not need our permission and you do not have to come to us first.
One thing we would rather state than leave implied: the publisher of this site is established outside Canada while its readers are in Canada. Exactly how Canadian federal and Quebec privacy law apply in that situation is a question for a qualified adviser, and this page is written to be accurate and usable rather than to be a legal opinion.
Age
This site is for adults aged 18 or over. It is not aimed at children, we do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18, and nothing here is designed to appeal to them. If you believe a child has used this site, contact us and we will delete anything we hold.
Changes to this policy
If we add anything that collects data — a different analytics tool, affiliate tracking that sets its own cookie, a contact form — this policy is updated before it goes live, and the consent banner asks you again rather than carrying over an old answer.
